From the Champs Jendreau lieu-dit in the north of Morgeot (Morgeot is bigger than Clos Vougeot, and as varied). Because of its location it could be called either Boudriotte or Morgeot. Tank sample, already fined with casein. Richer than the Morgeot from Francemont, with more orange on the nose and a touch of oak and mealy spice. More spicy and rich on the nose and mid palate but comes in tight and precise on the finish. Definitely a notch up in depth and completeness. Long, too. (JH)

Fresh lemon, lime and crushed rock aromas show a hint of reduction. Offers more texture and dimension than the Morgeot but still quite dry in the middle, with flavors of lemon, white flowers, wild herbs and anise. A bit bracing--even austere--but with no shortage of volume or breadth. The lemony fruit really clamps down on the finish. Colin may keep this wine in cuve until February or March, as his new cuverie will provide him with more space.
