Tasting notes
The 2017 Volnay Village has a playful, joyous bouquet with tart red cherries and crushed strawberry. The palate is medium-bodied with lithe tannin, brisk and breezy with the structure finally surfacing towards the finish. Enjoy over the next 12 to 15 years.

Bursting with aromas of violets, rose petal and sweet wild berries, the 2017 Volnay Village is medium-bodied, silky and elegant, with a lively core of juicy fruit, melting tannins and a pure finish. If the Vendanges Sélectionées bottling is built for the cellar, this will deliver immense pleasure in its youth.
Barrel sample of final blend. From both the Pommard and Meursault sides of the appellation. Aged in 5- to 7-year-old oak. Tangy red fruit and with a savoury note, a delicate sweet spice. Sweet, gently chewy tannins becoming silky on the finish. A depth of fruit and just lovely harmony, everything in place. (JH)
