Tasting notes
The dark currant, plum and violet aromas display an appealing spiciness that continues on to the attractive vibrant, intense and sleekly muscular flavors that already possess fine depth on the notably rich and balanced finale. While the supporting tannins aren't necessarily firmer, their texture is notably different and this will need at least some bottle age first. Drink 2026+

The 2016 Vosne-Romanee Clos du Chateau, which came from vat, has a broad, generous, wild strawberry and cranberry-scented bouquet with beautifully integrated oak, very sensual in style and if anything, gaining intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red berry fruit, maybe not quite as harmonious as the Colombiere and just pulling up a little short on the finish at the moment. That said, I am sure that it will develop more substance once in bottle. Dec 2017, www.robertparker.com
