The 2016 Clos Margalaine is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot. It was aged in 33% new French oak barrels, 33% one-year-old barrels and 33% stainless steel tanks. Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, it has a spicy nose of cinnamon and fenugreek with warm black cherries and stewed plums plus a touch of sauteed herbs. The palate is medium-bodied, refreshing, savory and elegantly played with an herbal lift. 2,250 cases produced. Nov 2018, www.robertparker.com
