Tasting notes
The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru is cut from a more elegant cloth than usual. The bouquet is nicely defined, offering perfumed dark cherry, cranberry and orange blossom aromas. The palate is crisp and well-defined on the entry with a fine bead of acidity, and quite linear and correct – toward the finish, I begin missing the sensuality and voluptuousness that I expect from this Premier Cru. Hopefully it will gain some weight once in bottle.

Exotic and decadent red with ripe strawberries, blackberries and perfumes. Medium body, firm and silky tannins and a fresh finish. Better after 2022.
The 2017 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots (Maison Louis Jadot) bursts with wild aromas of incense, smoked meats, dark chocolate and grilled game, followed by a medium-bodied, firm and chewy palate with a chunky, old-fashioned profile and a carnal finish.
Cask sample. So ripe it almost smells of black cherries! Really fills the mouth with opulent, beautifully balanced fruit. Shaded, nuanced, with bite and subtlety. But it's so ready! (JR)
About the producer

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
