Score 95/100 · Drink 2019-2039, Jeb Dunnuck, Feb 2019
While not from Bordeaux, I was able to taste the 2008 Château Lagrezette Le Pigeonnier while I was in Bordeaux and opted to include it here due to its outstanding quality. Still vibrant ruby-colored with a youthful bouquet of blueberries, leafy underbrush, and mint, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a layered, flamboyant texture, ripe tannins, and a great, great finish. It’s a brilliant Cahors that’s just now at the early stages of its drink window, and I’ve no doubt it has another two decades of life. Bravo!
