Tasting notes
From a higher elevation vineyard and all granite soils, the 2015 St Péray Lieux Dit Payrolles is the greatest wine I’ve tasted from this appellation (and I suspect the greatest wine ever made from the appellation). Lemon zest, toasted bread, tangerine and crushed rock characteristics all emerge from this full-bodied, mineral-laced, gorgeously pure white that will stand toe to toe with a great Hermitage Blanc. Made from 100% Marsanne that was brought up all in demi-muids, it can be drunk anytime over the coming decade or more.
