Tasting notes
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon J. Daniel Cuvée is a huge, opulent wine. Inky dark fruit, chocolate, espresso, mocha and licorice are amplified in this flamboyant, exotic Cabernet Sauvignon. Soft, plush and engaging, the 2015 captures all the richness of the year, along with the more overt style that was typical of this era. Even so, the J. Daniel has aged quite well. It will drink well for another decade or so.

Bright, dark ruby. Captivating violet lift to the reticent aromas of blackberry, boysenberry and minerals. Broad-shouldered, dense and thick, with its highly concentrated flavors of black fruits, chocolate and coffee liqueur already displaying considerable incipient complexity. If anything, this wine gains in breadth on the back half, finishes with building, palate-saturating tannins and a note of crystallized dark berries while avoiding any impression of heaviness. This seriously energetic wine has it all.
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon J. Daniel Cuvée is every bit as compelling as it was last year. Powerful and dramatic, the 2015 bursts from the glass with tons of intensity. The black cherry, chocolate, plum, mocha, licorice and new leather flavors are all amped up. Even with all of its overt richness, the 2015 shows quite a bit of detail in its layered personality and feel. All the elements simply meld together effortlessly.
