2015 Vigna l'Apparita

Tasting notes
This is striking in its savoury, leathery intensity – offering great complexity and dried fruit notes. It’s textured and vibrant, with sandy tannins, bright acidity and a line that is decidedly Italianate. While this is starting to show its maturity, there’s plenty of fruit beneath, and with the structure that will allow it to evolve over the next decade at least.
Glass-staining, rich and concentrated, the 2015 L’Apparita is glossy and sumptuous, but with inviting perfume and serious structure. With pure cassis, it’s fragrant and expressive with a tightly structure core of sweet, dense, luscious fruit. Very fresh, this is harmonious.

It's impossible not to be completely smitten by the 2015 L'Apparita. This pure expression of Merlot from Chianti Classico is an exceedingly smooth and enriched expression with abundant tones of black cherry, spice, chocolate and barbecue smoke. The mouthfeel is gorgeous, and although this wine is not as extracted or dense as past editions, it is far more finessed and elegant. You get a clear taste not only of the grape but of the gravely soils that make up this extraordinary territory. What could be better than Merlot and Tuscany blended together in a single bottle?
