Tasting notes
The 2017 Riesling Wehlener Klosterberg Kabinett (White Capsule) is a classic Mosel wine: lithe and weightless at 10% alcohol, with just a hint of sweetness that gives charm and underlines the bright fruit. The attractive nose is still a bit reductive and offers a clear, bright and crunchy slate bouquet that reflects the cooler terroir of the Klosterberg. On the palate, this is a lean, elegant, charmingly round and textured dry Kabinett with stimulating salinity and mineral purity. The finish is surprisingly long. This lean and elegant 2017 already drinks perfectly well. Tasted in March 2019.
