Tasting notes
The 2016 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Baudines 1er Cru has a fresh bouquet with crisp lemon, orange blossom and sea spray notes, although I would have liked more intensity. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, fresh and poised, not bursting with intensity due to the growing season, yet clean and pure. Enjoy over the next 4 to 8 years. Tasted at the Domaine Direct Tasting in London.

Lightly smoky with some alcohol in evidence on the nose. Good appetising green flavours and lots of juice and freshness. Well done. Reaches right across the palate. Great balance. (JR)
Light yellow. Musky aromas of pear, peach and spices, plus a whiff of honey. A nicely balanced, pliant midweight with moderate thrust and length to its yellow stone fruit, floral and menthol flavors. Lacks a bit of intensity and depth owing to the full crop load here, but easy to drink.
