Composed of 97% Syrah and 3% Viognier, the 2015 La Sangre de Jonata has a medium garnet-purple color and vibrantly scented nose of red and black cherries, violets, underbrush and Indian spices with a yeasty/savory/meaty undercurrent. Full-bodied, rich, powerful and wonderfully spicy in the mouth, the opulent fruit is well-framed by firm, rounded tannins and it finishes long and peppery. Sep 2017, www.robertparker.com
