Tasting notes
The 2016 Rully Rouge has so much red fruit on the nose, it doesn't know whether it’s coming or going. There is just a soupçon of something almost Gamay-like here. The palate is balanced, simple but fresh, offering exuberant blueberry and red cherry fruit and a sorbet-fresh finish. Long-term? Not quite, but a lot of fun in a bottle. Tasted at Hôtel de Beaune in Burgundy.

Notes of ripe cherries, wood smoke and spices introduce the 2016 Rully, an ample, medium-bodied wine with supple, melting tannins and a velvety attack. Ripe but savory, it's Dureuil's sole cuvée of red Rully, as yields were too low to produce any lieux-dits bottlings at the communal level.
