Tasting notes
In his book 'Inside Burgundy', Jasper Morris MW reports that when it comes to Puligny-Montrachet, Paul Pernot “could be the outstanding domaine of that appellation”. The domaine is unquestionably one of the top handful of growers in the region, with its Puligny showing exquisite delicacy and poise but with the structure to age gracefully. This Bourgogne Blanc is a “baby Puligny” made from the young vines of his Puligny-Montrachet sites and surrounding Côte de Beaune vineyards. The wine offers early drinking pleasure from a fantastic vintage for Côte d’Or whites, with the perfect combination of both ripeness and tension all at a fantastically affordable price. This approachable 2017 has the perfect combination of juicy Côte d’Or yellow apple fruit flavours and a bright vivid acidity. The texture is fantastic - silky but with a bit of mid palate weight too. A mouthwatering finish thanks to a touch of mineral salinity. Great value everyday drinking Bourgogne Blanc from a Puligny master.
