The 2016 Scharzhofberger Riesling Kabinett offers a lovely, aromatic white stone fruit aroma that is intermixed with floral and slatey notes. Racy-piquant and very salty, this is a pure and refreshing Scharzhofberger with lush, stimulating fruit and minerality in the finish. This is a gorgeous Riesling to be served with many spicy dishes.

The 2016 Scharzhofberger Riesling Kabinett offers a lovely, aromatic white stone fruit aroma that is intermixed with floral and slatey notes. Racy-piquant and very salty, this is a pure and refreshing Scharzhofberger with lush, stimulating fruit and minerality in the finish. This is a gorgeous Riesling to be served with many spicy dishes. Tasted March 2008.
This year’s installment of Scharzhofberger Kabinett reverts to the distinctively delicious style of the 2014: at 9% alcohol more than buoyant enough, but by the same token only very discreetly sweet. Dill and cress accent clear, juicy abundance of fresh pear and white peach. A satiny feel and the impingement of piquant fruit pip and pit offer a delightful juxtaposition, as does the combination of fruity richness with levity and subtle but animating citricity. A mouthwatering dose of mineral salts caps the lusciously-lingering finish.
Both stony/dusty and scented with lemon. Utterly pure and fresh in its lemon/lime citrus flavour. Linear, long and mouth-wateringly pure. (JH)
