Score 96/100 · Drink 2025-2040, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Apr 2018

The 2016 Schonfels "Fass 11" ("Grosses Gewächs") has deep, ripe, elegant fruit (ripe pears) with noble yeasty, vegetal (bouquet garni) aromas on the nose along with herbal/spicy and even iodine notes. On the palate, this is a rich, highly elegant but fine and firmly structured Schonfels with a long, complex and salty finish. A great Riesling with Just three grams of residual sugar. Tasted in March 2018, from a bottle that was opened four weeks prior.
