Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot. Mid deep ruby with the beginning of age. Very fine dark fruit and spicy oak with a hint of bell pepper pulling you in, and becoming a little more manifest on the palate, which is strange for what is generally considered a hot vintage. Early harvest? Just a little astringent on the finish but with a good aromatic build up on the finish. (WS)

The 2007 Bolgheri Superiore Arnione is gorgeous in this vintage. Sweet floral notes meld into ripe red cherries, plums and grilled herbs. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2022. I encountered quite a bit of bottle variation in the wines I tasted from Campo alla Sughera this year.
