Score 91/100 · Drink 2022-2029, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Sep 2018

Discreet, pretty aromas of citrus fruits, white peach, flowers and rock. Enticing, sappy wine with no rough edges; at once more complex and more refined than the foregoing wines, conveying a smooth, silky texture and lovely breadth without excess weight. Finishes with refreshing sappy, citrussy lift and noteworthy length. These vines are not as well placed as his vines in Morgeot as they're in a more humid spot, noted Colin, but in '17 this wine is more refined.

From the Champs Jendreau lieu-dit in the north of Morgeot (Morgeot is bigger than Clos Vougeot, and as varied). Because of its location it could be called either Boudriotte or Morgeot. The wine they've labelled Morgeot is fuller bodied. Bruno’s parents used to blend the two. Tank sample. Vegy, leafy nose. Very linear and direct with real saline appetising energy. Lots to like and very clean and polished. Very persistent. (JR)

(12.8% natural alcohol): Bright, light yellow. Slightly reduced but ripe aromas of yellow peach, lemon cream, menthol and flowers. At once salty and lively, showing more texture than the foregoing premier crus. Tactile and smooth but serious, with a touch of vanilla sweetness and a firm mineral underpinning. Finishes with good subtle mineral-driven persistence and no rough edges.
