Score 16/20 · Drink 2014-2024, Richard Hemming MW, jancisrobinson.com, Sep 2014

Blend of 50% Syrah from Paul Jaboulet Aîné in the Rhône and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon from Ch La Lagune. Aged in big oak cask. Blackcurrant and chocolate – interesting that it doesn’t let either grape dominate. Traditional, quite rustic in style – seems to belong more to the Mediterranean south than the Atlantic southwest. The story is perhaps more interesting than the wine. (RH)
