Tasting notes
This is a blend of 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha, 5% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo that spends six years in old American oak during which time it is racked twice a year. Despite a light frost in April and hail in July, production was slightly higher than in 2005. A handsome magnum!!! Gorgeous subtle ruby colour. Such classic, mature rioja aromas! Graceful. Far from heavy. Just a lovely 13- year-old treasure that could be drunk now but could be a wonderful present for someone starting a cellar. Long and delightfully subtle. Transparent. (JR)

A very impressive delivery of fruit here. Incredible clarity and purity of papaya and peaches with peach blossom and almond blossom in the mix. The palate has a very sleek, fine, pure and fresh line of mouthwatering acidity and supple, fleshy dried peach and lemon. Assertive but silky. The length is impressive. Drink now.
This red remains fresh and juicy, featuring cherry, berry and licorice flavors mingling with smoke, coffee and mineral notes. Light, firm tannins and orange peel acidity keep this balanced. Drink now through 2021. 18,333 cases made, 4,800 cases imported.
Vivid red. Highly perfumed scents of ripe red currant, cherry liqueur, pipe tobacco, leather and rose oil, along with a hint of coconut in the background. Juicy and precise on the palate, offering deep-pitched red fruit preserve, spicecake and floral pastille flavors and a hint of mocha. The silky, sweet, impressively long finish features excellent clarity and lingering spice and smoke nuances.
