Tasting notes
Light yellow-gold. Ripe nectarine, pear nectar, violet and hints of honey and vanilla on the perfumed nose. Juicy and seamless on the palate, offering mineral-tinged orchard and pit fruit flavors that tighten up slowly on the back half. A subtle touch of orange zest energizes a very long, seamless, floral-tinged finish that shows no rough edges.

Lots of minerality emerges from the 2016 Condrieu La Caille. It's rich, textured and balanced, with notions of citrus blossom, buttered apricot and exotic flowers. Medium-bodied, fresh and elegant, with good acidity and richness, drink it over the coming couple of years. This tiny, family run estate has come on like gangbusters over the past 4-5 years and are now fashioning some of the finest wines in Côte Rôtie.
Aged in 40% new oak, the 2016 Condrieu la Caille sports gentle notes of toasted grain on the nose, supported by pineapple fruit. Full-bodied, lush and easy, ripe melon and pear flavors finish a bit soft. Drink it over the next year or two.
