Tasting Notes
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Montecillo Vineyard is scented of crème de cassis, tilled soil and Black Forest cake with touches of menthol and cigar box. Medium to full-bodied, it delivers a great core of purely expressed, muscular fruit with a firm, grainy frame and a long, earth-laced finish.

Smoke, grilled herbs, new leather, licorice and lavender make a strong opening statement in the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Montecillo Vineyard. Powerful, dense and massively constituted, this huge mountain Cabernet Sauvignon needs time to be at its best, but it is impressive, even in the early going. Here, too, the new oak needs time to fully integrate. Sadly, Du Mol bottled about 4.5 barrels of the 2015, as opposed to a normal production of approximately 14 barrels.
