The 2014 Montrachet Grand Cru was poured blind at a private dinner in Beaune. Wow, what a wine. Glistening in the glass, it bursts with yellow plum, flint, almond and orange pith scents on the complex and brilliantly delineated nose that you just don't want to stop sniffing. The palate is intense, supremely well-balanced and packed to the rafters with flavor. This multi-dimensional Montrachet fans out gloriously on the finish and delivers the counterbalancing "bite" to drag you back for another sip. Stunning. Tasted at a private dinner in Beaune
