Tasting notes
Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Duo de Conseillante features enticing scents of baked black cherries, mulberries and wild blueberries with suggestions of violets and fallen leaves plus a waft of baking spices. Medium-bodied, the palate has wonderful elegance with soft tannins and understated fruit, finishing with a quiet intensity.

The 2017 Duo de Conseillante, the Deuxième Vin of La Conseillante of course, has a simple bouquet with redcurrant and crushed strawberry fruit, well defined with light loamy aromas percolating up with time. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins. It feels a little rustic and ferrous. The slightly higher proportion of Cabernet Franc in this blend, due to the frost, imparts a soupçon of pepperiness on the finish. Fine.
