Tasting notes
The Ferran 2017 Blanc comes roaring out of the glass with bold notions of ripe Bosc pears, lemonade, fresh ginger and lime leaves plus wafts of wet pebbles and white pepper. Medium-bodied, clean and refreshing, the palate is bursting with loads of citrus layers, finishing on a lingering spicy note.

The 2017 Ferran Blanc is well defined on the nose with crisp green apples, apricot blossom and very light dewy meadow aromas. The palate is well balanced with a saline entry, very taut and crisp with a palpable sense of energy and tension on the again saline finish. What a superb white Pessac-Léognan. This comes recommended.
The 2017 Ferran Blanc was picked from 28 August and the Sémillon picked 10 days later. The bouquet is light at first but gains vigor with aeration with subtle scents of yellow flowers and citrus fruit. The palate is well balanced with orange zest and a little mango on the entry. There is very pleasant weight in the mouth and the dash of spice towards the finish completes a delicious Pessac-Léognan white.
The 2017 Ferran is an attractive, nicely chiseled white. The lemon peel, white flower and white pepper flavors offer good depth. A few rough edges remain, but I am hopeful élevage can take care of some of that.
