Tasting notes
The 2011 Rosso del Gnemiz is gorgeous. Dark and racy in style, this supple, expressive, this Merlot/Cabernet blend graces the palate with black cherries, blueberry jam, violets, spices, licorice and savory herbs. Even with all of its fruit, the 2011 is medium in body and distinctly mineral/savory; in other words super-classic in terms of its Friulian personality and overall character. The 2011 Rosso is 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Franc/Sauvignon.

The 2011 Friuli Colli Orientali Rosso del Gnemiz is a blend of 65% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon that delivers edgy contours with fresh fruit, exotic spice and tobacco. This is a youthful, easy-drinking red that would work well next to home-cooked meatloaf or roast beef. Bright cherry fruit adds energy to the finish. Drink: 2014-2017.
