Tasting notes
The 2016 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Marconnets includes 70% whole bunch fruit, the crop reduced by around 50% because of frost. It has a slightly rustic and damp earthy bouquet, where the stem addition is more conspicuous than other cuvées. The palate is more sensual than the aromatics suggest, silky smooth in texture with a mixture of red and blue fruit, here the whole bunch neatly assimilated. Give this 18 to 20 months in bottle.
