Score 90/100 · Drink 2019-2026, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Oct 2019

The 2016 Rosso di Montalcino is laced with dark cherry, tobacco, cedar, mint and dried flowers, all of which give it a good bit of nuance and overall complexity. Medium in body and nicely expressive, the 2016 is a good choice for drinking now and over the next few years.

Mid ruby. A little reductive and closed on the nose, but with good fruit underneath. Slow yet concentrated on the palate. A rich layer of tannins carries focused cherry fruit. (WS)
