(30% new oak, vs. 25% for the Cuvée des Forgets): Ripe aromas of stone fruits and hazelnut, with its oak element supported by calcaire minerality. Firmer and more laid-back than the Cuvée des Forgets, with sexy peach and soft citrus flavors accented by spicy oak. This impressive Bourgogne Blanc has the energy and intensity to improve in bottle and should be held for another year. Incidentally, the estate's Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Montchenevoy was nearly 100% frosted, and what was left was declassified into this wine.

Cool and satisfying and very intense. This has (still) to be VVGV . Pure Côte d'Or white burgundy. Something to chew on, lots of refreshment. (JR)
