Tasting notes
(fermented and aged for a year in French oak puncheons, 25 percent of them new; no malo) Limpid yellow. A powerfully scented nose evokes fresh honeydew melon, Meyer lemon, quince and white flowers, and a smoky nuance builds as the wine stretches out. Sappy, concentrated and penetrating on the palate, offering intense orchard and citrus fruit flavors and suggestions of chamomile, sweet butter and iodine. A dusty mineral element adds energizing lift and cut to the impressively long, juicy finish, which leaves behind a suave floral note.

The 2015 Chardonnay Reserve has a nose of ripe apricots, honeydew melon and pink grapefruit with nuances of toasty oak, marzipan, ginger and butterscotch. Medium-bodied, the palate offers a wonderful concentration of stone fruit and citrus flavors with nicely judged oak and a lively backbone, finishing long and creamy.
