Tasting notes
Ric Forman's 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is just as fabulous as it has always been. At ten years of age, the 2015 is just beginning to enter its first plateau of maturity. Blackberry, graphite, leather, spice, menthol and chocolate build nicely. All the elements are so well balanced. This harmonious, fleshy Cabernet Sauvignon delivers on all fronts. The ripeness of the vintage comes through nicely, and yet nothing about the 2015 is overdone. Superb.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon, which came from yields half of what is normally routine, is a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon followed by mostly Cabernet Franc and smaller quantities of Petit Verdot and Merlot. This wine, which is still in barrel, displays gorgeous blueberry and black raspberry notes with some licorice, truffle and forest floor. The wine has a dense ruby/purple color, medium to full body, a Bordeaux-like structure, but wonderful energy, purity and richness. It should drink well for 15-20 years at minimum.
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon rich, pliant and expressive, but very much in the classic Forman mold. Ripe, silky tannins wrap around the fruit, adding to the wine's pure sensuality. Dark red cherry, plum, lavender and spice notes are front and center, but it is the wine's textural feel that is the main characteristic of the vintage.
