The 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin Village offers pretty, quite tertiary dark berry fruit on the nose, a hint of mushroom developing with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, nicely focused with a slightly brittle blackberry and strawberry finish. Drink now and over the next 4-6 years.

Moderately saturated medium red. A touch of reduction to the aromas of red berries and animal fur. Supple, easygoing and sweet--and nicely concentrated for a 2014 village wine. This would be lovely in a restaurant now, as there's nothing hard or austere about it. Finishes with a fine dusting of tannins. (Sérafin's Bourgogne Rouge offers lively scents of blackberry, blueberry and pepper and a juicy middle palate. Although it's on the lean side, it delivers good vinosity and saline cut; I rated it 87 points.)
Broad and sweet. For the first time among the 2014s I taste a bit of red cabbage – not a good sign. (JR)
Bright medium red. Aromas of boysenberry, spices and game. In a gentle, medium-bodied style but with lovely juiciness and energy to its flavors of blueberry, blackberry and licorice. Finishes with a fine dusting of tannins that will not get in the way of early enjoyment.
