Deep, vivid red. Smoky cassis and tar aromas complicated by floral, herbal and new leather qualities. Juicy red and dark berry flavors are given grip by solid but harmonious tannins and take on a subtle herbal character with aeration. Finishes with good tangy lift and an echo of blackcurrant. Already sweet and easy to drink, but I suspect that it will gain complexity with another five years in the cellar.
