Score 88/100 · Drink 2018-2023, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2019

The 2015 Mongrana is a fresh, fragrant entry-level red that offers a good bit of near and medium-term appeal. In 2015 the Mongrana has a bit more depth than it usually does, but the style remains one built on perfume and of generous, forward fruit character. The blend is 50% Sangiovese, 25% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon.

50% Sangiovese, 25% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. Inviting savoury cherry nose. Supple sweet cherry fruit with a stalky juicy finish. Very easy to like. (WS)

Querciabella

Literally translating as “beautiful oak”, Querciabella was created in 1974 by Giuseppe Castiglioni. A pioneer in Chianti, he started farming biodynamically and experimenting with both varieties and winemaking – one result of which was Camartina, the property’s flagship Super Tuscan.
