Tasting notes
Cask sample. Lovely smoked paprika aroma, and dense cranberry fruit. Very savoury, very multi-layered. Definitely needs more time for the balance to settle, but there's no questioning the quality of fruit here. (RH)

The 2015 Bourgogne Rouge comes from Volnay and Pommard and sees no new oak. It has a crisp redcurrant and pomegranate nose with just a touch of pine needle. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, quite crunchy in the mouth with a brisk, chalky-textured finish.
(racked and in tank in Rossignol's new cuverie ): Medium red. Aromas of plum, redcurrant and smoke. Fat and sweet, showing the ripeness and richness of the year. Has the stuffing to support its substantial ripe tannins.
