Tasting notes
Beringer was one of the first to exploit the high-quality terroir in Knights Valley, and the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Knights Valley (89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc and the rest Merlot and Petit Verdot aged in 23% new French oak) shows notes of licorice, loads of black and red currant fruit, a touch of coffee, and undertones of earth and spice. It is opaque ruby/purple, medium-bodied and very well made. Drink now-2026.

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Knights Valley is terrific, although not quite the screaming value it once was. Sweet red cherry, pomegranate, spices, mint and gravel meld into the voluptuous, racy finish. There are plenty of Knights Valley signatures in this succulent, deeply expressive Cabernet from Beringer.
