Score 90/100 · Drink 2017-2025, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Aug 2017

2016 Dolcetto d'Alba is a very pretty, restrained wine, with good structure and tons of varietal character. Tightly wound and structure, the 2016 will benefit from a good 6-12 months in bottle. There is less radiance and opulence than in the 2015, but more than enough complexity to hold interest for at least a few years. Violet, plum and blackberry overtones, along with grippy tannins, give the wine its brooding, inward personality.
