Bright lemon-yellow. Ripe peach, hazelnut and a whiff of clove on the nose; I might have picked this blind as Meursault. Fat, plush and sweet but given grip by a hint of malic acidity. This nicely concentrated wine is showing its oaky clove side today and needs a year or two of cellaring. Finishes with good length and a faint hard edge, but with building nutty sweetness.
