Tasting notes
One of the best expressions from the classic Cannubi vineyard area, this fragrant red is all about finesse, opening with enticing scents of perfumed berry, iris, rose, chopped herb, baking spice and new leather. The vibrant palate boasts structure as well as an almost ethereal elegance, delivering succulent red cherry, crushed strawberry, cinnamon and licorice wrapped in refined tannins. Bright acidity lends impeccable balance.

Barolo commune. Mulchy nose. Rich fruit, Very classic and with lots going on already. Exuberant. (JR)
The 2013 Barolo Cannubi lacks the focus and precision that I have encountered elsewhere in this slightly cooler but well-performing vintage. The bouquet here is slightly unraveled with diverse points of primary fruit and a smoky-mineral definition that don't necessarily line up in unity. There is some bitter almond and crisp white cherry on the close.
Sweet red cherry, blood orange, mint, rose petal and sweet spices give the 2013 Barolo Cannubi a very pretty, exotic range of expression. Medium in body and silky the 2013 will drink well with minimal cellaring. The 2013 is a bit light and at times fleeting, but it is attractive just the same.
