Score 92/100 · Drink 2019-2030, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, May 2019
The blend here is the same as the 2014, but the 2015 Prima Pietra offers more interesting aromas and a more satisfying fullness. This vintage comes from a newly built winery, and the vineyards planted in 2002 on the northern part of the Tuscan Coast could be offering more varietal expression now and more of those distinguishing characteristic differences between the grapes. In this vintage, the Petit Verdot seems to have taken a backseat to the power of the Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. There is a nice softness and generosity to this Prima Pietra that could pair well with a veal or lamb dish.
