Tasting notes
64% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 9% Petit Verdot. Nicely integrated and glossy with a light touch. At a good stage now. Fully evolved. Quite soft and refreshing. Vital acidity and ripe fruit without perhaps enormous undertow but very ‘pleasant ’ drinking. (JR)

The 2015 Le Serre Nuove shows just how alluring this vintage is. Silky, perfumed and also wonderfully light on its feet, the 2015 is a real pleasure to taste today. All of the Ornellaia signatures come through in an attractive, mid-weight wine that will drink well right out of the gate. The 2015 is a stunning Serre Nuove. That's all there is to it.
Stalky, ripe cherry nose with a hint of Moroccan leather. Firm, stalky tannins over a layer of ripe cherry fruit. Sun-kissed red, but with quite rustic tannins. (WS)
A blend of 64% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 9% Petit Verdot, the 2015 Le Serre Nuove comes from slightly younger vines and was aged in 25% new oak. It offers a deeper, richer, more Cabernet-like character in its cassis, black cherry, graphite, licorice, and scorched earth aromas and flavors. The second wine of the estate, it has medium to full-bodied richness, beautiful purity of fruit, fine, fine tannin and a great finish. It will cruise for at least a decade in the cellar.
