Tasting notes
The 2012 Barbaresco Asili delivers ripe, dark fruit with blackberry preserves and dark cherry. The mouthfeel is succulent and sweet. This is an exuberant, full-throttle expression of Nebbiolo from a hot vintage to pair with thin ribbon pasta topped with shaved truffles.

Fairly pale ruby with orange tinges. Full nose of sweet cherry with hints of baking spice and herb liqueur. Herbal cherry fruit that is a little astringent, at least for the moment. Closes up rapidly. Rather stalky on the finish. (WS)
Barbaresco. Lustrous mid ruby with orange tinges. Slightly charred fruit on the nose with a not-very-original vanilla note. Sweet oak and fruit palate and brash oak on the finish. Elegant palate weight even if the oak is dominating the fruit for the moment.(WS)
