1999 Nuits St Georges Aux Murgers

The 1999 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Murgers 1er Cru has another backward nose with blueberry and light cassis scents, a whiff of boot polish and violets. There is plushness here. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded, pliant tannins and Morello cherries mixed with raspberry coulis and blood oranges. Modern in style, yet you cannot deny it is beautifully executed, the satin texture irresistible. Twenty years more to give here. Tasted at David Pope's 1999 Burgundy horizontal at Lorne.
