Tasting notes
Deep bright-rimmed ruby. Mineral-tinged aromas of fresh black and blue fruits, candied violet and olive show excellent clarity, and a hint of incense builds with air. Sweet, sharply defined cassis, bitter cherry and boysenberry flavors turn sweeter and smokier on the back half. Displays real energy on the sappy, impressively long finish, which features sneaky tannins and lingering florality.

Pepper, black cherry, pure and chiselled after the rustic Auguste Clape. Finishes with a lingering tannic grain. Lovely cherry flavour right through to the finish. Deserves age. (RH)
Opaque ruby. Powerful, smoke-accented aromas of cherry and dark berries, complicated by smoky bacon, licorice and floral qualities. Deep and broad on the palate, offering concentrated cassis and bitter cherry flavors braced and enlivened by a jolt of zesty minerality. Closes with solid grip, harmonious tannins and excellent focus, leaving cherry and violet notes behind.
