Score 93/100 · Drink 2015-2023, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Dec 2015
Burlotto's 2013 Barbera d'Alba, from parcels in Roddi and Verduno, is another absolutely delicious wine that won't break the bank. Sweet dark cherry, plum, spices and licorice meld together in a super-classic, powerful Barbera that will thrill readers who seek the best in traditionally made wines. The 2013 was aged in a 35HL cask. I prefer it to the richer, fleshier Barbera Aves. This is pure class. The Burlotto range holds several hidden gems. This is one of them.
