Tasting notes
Subtle red cherry flavour, light body, moderate tannin, refreshing acid. Overall, it's a thin and single-dimensional wine. (RH)

Some earthy character here and just-ripe raspberry fruit. Snappy, vibrant. Benefits from a little medicinal aroma but overall it's quite simple, finishing with a slightly vegetal hint. (RH)
The 2014 Bourgogne Vieilles Vignes has a light, slightly rustic, cranberry and strawberry scented bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with dry tannin on the entry, quite masculine in style and I would have preferred more flesh to come through on the finish.

About the producer

Nicolas Potel is one of Burgundy’s most talented and connected winemakers. He created Maison Roche de Bellene, the négoce arm of Domaine de Bellene, in 2008, using his extensive network in the region to source top-quality fruit for an "haute couture" négociant operation.
