The 2013 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières has a slightly muffled bouquet compared to the Meursault Charmes '13 at the moment. The palate is nicely balanced with a keen thread of acidity, orange zest and citrus lemon vying for attention with fine precision on the finish. Hopefully, the aromatics will achieve more clarity once in bottle.

Higher parcel, calcaire but quite deep. ‘For me, Genevrières isn’t inferior to Perrieres', says PY. Very rich and with a strong undertow. Juicy and admirable. Racy and approachable. (JR)
Pale, bright yellow. Sexy spices lift orange and tangy mineral notes on the ripe, slightly exotic nose. Ripe, dense and tangy, showing a lovely balance of sweetness and acidity to its lemon and orange flavors. The long, perfumed finish features very good grip and lift, as well as the obvious influence of sweet oak. The yield here was in the restrained 40 hectoliters-per-hectare range.
