Ripe in feel, with slightly dusty edges around the core of warm plum and raspberry fruit. Light anise and black tea notes line the finish. Apr 2017, James Molesworth, www.winespectator.com
The 2016 Domaine des Sabines is supple, open-knit and flat-out delicious. Sweet red cherry, plum and blood orange fruit notes are pushed forward, while ripe, silky tannins give the wine its soft contours. Creamy and ample on the palate, with terrific aromatic lift and overall brightness, the 2016 is absolutely impeccable. I loved it. Apr 2017, www.vinous.com
The 2016 Domaine des Sabines is a blend of 10% Cabernet Franc and 90% Merlot. It has a clean and nicely focused, quite tensile bouquet that delivers plenty of "controlled" black cherry and raspberry aromas that are neatly integrated with the oak. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm tannin that provide a steely backbone, lending this more masculinity than I have noticed in other vintages, with quite a pleasant salinity and spiciness on the aftertaste. This is an excellent Lalande-de-Pomerol. Apr 2017, www.robertparker.com, Drink: 2021-2038
