Tasting notes
This has the perfume and aromatic range more like Vosne or Chambolle than Bourgogne! Over-delivers at every level. Wonderful complexity, generous fruit and a furry tannic texture that gives firmness and ageability to the palate. GV (RH)

The 2015 Bourgogne le Chapitre has a lively blackcurrant and raspberry bouquet with autumn leaf and tobacco aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, one of the most structured wines from the domaine this year, a little austere towards the finish that initially feels introspective but finds its voice after a few minutes. There is a wonderful saline aftertaste here that bodes well for the future. Perhaps this has more secrets up its sleeve?

An absolutely stunning wine, the 2015 Bourgogne Rouge Chapitre is a reference point example of what Marsannay can be. Beautifully delineated aromatics and nuanced fruit bristle with youthful intensity. A kick of tannin on the finish adds further character in this hauntingly beautiful, compelling Marsannay from Sylvain Pataille. I tasted the 2015 from two samples aged in different cellars. Both were compelling. Jun 2017, www.vinous.com, Drink: 2019-2027
