(this fruit was harvested on the late side in the context of the vintage, on September 12): Pale, bright yellow. Good aromatic lift to the very ripe aromas of orange zest and brown spices; plenty of oak showing today. Juicy and spicy but with a touch of warmth to its orange and stone fruit flavors. A bit less focused on the finish than the Savigny-lès-Beaune, with the oak element currently clashing with the wine's alcohol. I'd wait until next year to open this.

Still in cask. Quite rich and savoury from old vines. Sweet start – a hint of chèvre! Creamy. Big – one of their biggest domaine 2015 whites. (JR)
About the producer
Nicolas Potel is one of Burgundy’s most fascinating and talented winemakers. Burgundy born and bred, son of the legendary Gérard Potel (of Domaine de la Pousse d’Or), he sold his eponymous label and today makes wine from his own vineyards under Domaine de Bellene.
